Having trouble disabling the UFW firewall...

I'm reaching out because I'm having trouble disabling the UFW (Uncomplicated Firewall) on my Ubuntu 22.04 system. UFW is great for network security management rules, but sometimes I must turn it off completely for troubleshooting or testing. I'm currently working on a project that requires me to have UFW completely turned off, but I've encountered a few issues that I can't seem to resolve. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on:System Configuration:

  • =11ptUbuntu version: 22.04 LTS
  • =11ptUFW: Enabled with default and custom rules
  • =11ptNetwork setup: Home network with occasional VPN use

What I’ve Tried:

  • =11ptChecked UFW status with sudo ufw status (confirmed it was active).
  • =11ptDisabled UFW using sudo ufw disable.
  • =11ptVerified the status again (showed as inactive).
  • =11ptRebooted the system to ensure changes persist.

After doing this, I’m still experiencing odd network behavior which makes me suspect that UFW might still be partially active or interfering with my network connections. Has anyone else faced similar problems with UFW on Ubuntu 22.04? How did you fix them? I’d appreciate any insights or detailed steps from those who have successfully disabled UFW on Ubuntu 22.04. Your help would be invaluable! Thanks a lot!
