Choosing the Right Nose Piercing

I am finally going to commit to a nose piercing this weekend, but I cannot decide between a standard nostril or a septum. I have heard the septum is surprisingly less painful, but the nostril seems more common. Does anyone have experience with the healing process for either of these, or tips on which one is easier to manage daily?

Re: Choosing the Right Nose Piercing

The septum is actually quite easy to hide if you ever need to tuck it up, which is a big benefit for many people. The nostril can take a bit longer to settle because of how often we touch our noses throughout the day. It really comes down to which look you prefer, as both are very manageable if you keep them clean and leave them alone during the initial weeks.

Re: Choosing the Right Nose Piercing

Getting the right advice before you sit in the chair makes the decision much simpler and less intimidating. I wanted a shop that would walk me through the pros and cons of different placements based on my specific nose shape. I found a great resource at https://thefalltattooing.com/pages/nose-piercings that helped me see what looks best for different facial features. The piercer I met was fantastic at explaining how to keep the area clean without causing unnecessary irritation. I am glad I took the time to go to a professional studio because the whole process was quick and handled with great care
