One of the richest people in Mexico and the founder of the Grupo Salinas group of companies, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine, declared the superiority of the first cryptocurrency over fiat.

“Everything we have in fiat can be completely seized by the authorities. The government is not interested in facilitating the use of bitcoin,” he said.

Salinas Pliego explained that the decentralized nature of the first cryptocurrency makes it much more difficult to ban or control it.

Bitcoin can also be instantly transferred around the world without the involvement of an intermediary, unlike fiat and gold, the billionaire added.

He called the limited emission of 21 million BTC an additional advantage of the first cryptocurrency, which allows it to be used as a store of value in the long term.

According to Salinas Pliego, people should focus on gaining fundamental knowledge about the history of money and fiat, which will help them realize the value of bitcoin.

“But don’t expect to make easy money in 30 days,” the billionaire warned.

In November 2020, Salinas Pliego announced that he had invested 10% of his liquid portfolio in bitcoin.

In February 2021, the billionaire added the hashtag of the first cryptocurrency to the description of his Twitter account. In June, he encouraged everyone to invest in bitcoin.
